Protein Shakes And Final Week Of Contest Prep????

Mike XXL i know u cut yr shakes one week prior .... its because you believe it holds water yes? i was considering doing it too im currently 6 days out and holding a little fluid in my abs.....
i was going to have chicken and sweet potato after training instead of a apple and protein shake...

also im using lasix (thats all i can get) for the show ... i was thinking of cutting my water 18hrs out from the pre judge.. and taking 1 tab (40mg) 8pm (after weigh in on friday night) then a half every 4 hrs depending on how im looking if im dry and full stop there ...

    hows that sound?

also im not carb depleting .... i will do a small carb up on wednesday consisting of sweet potato , rolled oats , and some fruit ....

    any suggestions?

    Good idea to cut shakes.

I personally think your better off using no lasix, if you have nothing else use herbal. Increase your water by 1L per day from Tues to Thrus. Then 4L on friday cutting it off around 5pm, use your herbal diaredics from tues on.

If you decided to use lasix, 1/2 tab every 4H you'll do well to be alive come show time. AT MOST take 1 tab (40mg) friday night around 7pm and 1/2 in AM IF you need it. lasix works for about 6 hours (la SIX get it).

thanks silver..... why would you cut the shakes? is due to extra sodium that they have? After training would it still not to be better to have quick protein?

sorry for all the q's its my first show and i really wanna dial in...

anyother advice would be appreciated greatly..

Well with a shake you're never 100% sure what your getting, they all have some Latose in them = sugar, and yes they are high is sodium, but i am not a big believer it cutting all your sodium. If you Sodium and or K levels are off you can not flex and will cramp up.

My current diet looks like this ....
    8.00am 1 hr cardio
    9.00am 10 egg whites / 100g green beans
    30g Rolled Oats
    40 pro 20 carb

    10.30am gym
    11.30am 1 scoop vp2/1 scoop whey gourmet
    1 apple
    50 pro 16 carb

1.30 am 250g chicken breast / salad / tbls flax
    50 pro 15 fat

    4.00pm same as above

    7.00pm 200g Steak / salad / tbls flax
    50 pro 15 fat

    9.00pm 30 mins cardio

    10.00pm 200g Steak / Green Beans / 1 small tomato

would it be better to sub the steak for egg whites at night?

Be better to sub the shake for egg whites, 500ml carton of eggs whites is like 2.39 here, easy to drink down without cooking. 50g of protien. PVL whey your using has sugar I am pretty sure, fairly high is carbs.
