    Angry PLEASE HELP,before i kill this computer!!


    I waited 5 hours downloading dawn of the dead from supernova.org then
    tried to play it but only the sound works and it says codec error.

    please help...going crazzzzy;lknaef jAEG EAJOEgeg jj;egnhskbnSDK: bSK ;lbsdfukkkkk FUKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!AWC3R IPWIH W;AETIH WETIH

    does the error make a recomendation for a different codec??

    that might be the issue, it's one way they keep making what you are doing harder..

    www.cnet.com search for codec free downloads..

    OK, Spywizard is right. You probably need to install the right codec. Do you have the divx codec installed? I've had good experiences with the ffdshow filters. (download)
    You can also get the official divx codec from divx.com

    Edit: Should have mentioned before, the above post is for .avi files (mpeg4 streams, ie divx/xvid)

    vlc viewer is about the best i have found for playing videos with issue like this. it is also able to play .part files while you are downloading the video from what ever service you use to make sure it is the real thing and you dont already have a copy of the "movie"

    just incase anyone else has problem like this

    download defilepak

    goto http://hellninjacommando.com/defilerpak/ and get the latest defilerpak which comes with the most commonly needed codecs for audio/video and will install them for you.. makes things easy

    Nemo codec pac is the bomb ...... run's X-VId all kinds of stuff I recommend that you do a search on google for "nemo codec pack" you will get loads of results... try that
