Use Firefox as your browser instead of Explorer... I promise all problems will fade away.

Also you can download a free 30 day trial of spysweeper from downloads.com. It is fully versions, and it is one of the best ones I have seen. Picks up things that adware and spybot misses. Also looks and destroy's traces, which I Like.

im bumping this cause i have both Spysweeper and Ad-adware and niether will remove all the crap they find...I have spysweeper run at 4 am every morn and when I wake up, it always finds something or the same thing? Any idea on how you can make sure this program(s) completely remove the spyware it finds....sometimes it says "can't remove this, go into windows explorer and delete the file/folder yourself" then when I try that it won't let me delete cause its being used by another person or program??? HELP!?

At a bookstore the other day, I saw a book entitled "Sex for Dummies." Why would someone want to teach dumb people how to reproduce? Aren't there enough of them now?

I agree with this but Ad-aware and Spybot are good ones. Sometimes depending on the problem you have to manually remove things from the registry if tyhey continue.

Use FireFox. Easy to transition to, tons of useful extensions, and won't get hijacked. Built in popup killer. Also, your E-penis will grow 3 inches once you mention you use Firefox. Also, use Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware in tandem. And for God's sake, have antivirus software running constantly. I recommend Norton, nothing else comes close.

    http://security.kolla.de Spybot S&D
    http://www.lavasoft.com Ad-Aware
    http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox Firefox

How sad is that I have those websites memorized?

Edit: PurpleTeddy, if I wasn't already married I'd propose to you solely on the strength of your nerd-knowledge.
