Its not about speed but security.... no active-x........ pretty much bulletproof as far as spyware goes.

It's 100 times better. More secure and extremely customizable. You can get mods than do a myriad of things like kill page ads, block pop ups, etc.

Firefox can be faster....it can load your pages 2-3 times faster heres how ya do it..

    1. Type "about_:config" (drop the _ out of this line. For some reason the forum is adding the _ to about_:config?) into the address bar and hit return. Scroll
down and look for the following entries:

    network.http.pipelining
    network.http.proxy.pipelining
    network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time.
When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really
    speeds up page loading.

    2. Alter the entries as follows:

    Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

    Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This
means it will make 30 requests at once.

    3. Last, right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer.
Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0".
This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
At a bookstore the other day, I saw a book entitled "Sex for Dummies." Why would someone want to teach dumb people how to reproduce? Aren't there enough of them now?

Cool! But, wouldn't the speed of web browsing be more dependent on your connection to the net?

Yes, these instructions just optimize the browser which reduces the chance of it being the bottleneck. Good post teddy, long time no chat.....my favourite lil attention whore.
