Want to clear your computer of information?

Enlight of some events that has happened in my town.....and due to the community of friends i have on the net...i felt it was necessary to clean some information off my computer...

and NO reformatting will not delete information.....so i suggest.....

cyberscrub.....


if you have emule .....its just a short download..but for all my friends here.....a valuable software to have ....
law enforcement can not retrieve incriminating ...information off your computer...

just wanted to pass it along....hope ya keep safe ....out there...

Deleted files remain on your computer after a reformat.....and can be retrived by anyone wanting to know your personal data......

Delete files does NOT mean erased files.....

i believe u would have to partition the drive several times to completely erase all info on that drive.
no info at that point would be retrieveable. why pay for software when u have the tools at ur disposal?

EE is one of the best out there. Cyberscrub and EE perform the same type of functions, but I feel EE provides more usability and ease of configuring.

they are the same type of programs...just make sure there is an erasing and not just deleting of files.....*delete does not mean erase*

no offense but to clean your pc if its infected bad you have to go into the registry editor and manually remove them .Some BOs and other malware can be a biatch to remove. If it is infected real bad ,back up data to another drive and reformat it for best results

to reformat doesn't erase ....files it just deletes them ..they can be recovered......by someone who knows what they are looking for....

miss thing when you do a low level formmat you clear everything accept objects tha tyou can recover using computer forensics tools. By the way what education do you have in computers and may I ask what certs you have.pm me

Don't sweat, PurpleLaceTeddy. The reality of the fact is that, unless you're facing a federal investigation for terrorism or child porn, a simple low-level format will take care of anything your local or state police have to offer. Unless they know specifically what files they're looking for, sizes, headers, etc, they really can't find anything once it's overwritten by other junk.
Now, older hard drives (pre-1995) took up a lot more physical space to write to the disks, and the heads weren't as accurate as they are now. Nowadays, nothing short of multi-million dollar equipment will be able to find the infinitesmally tiny traces left from jitter. But they'de sure like you to keep on believing in their omnicient power to read your old data, because it makes their jobs easier.

I like another method. I buy new hard drives every two years and sledgehammer the old ones before I put them in a dumpster. That should work. I mean if you felt you were up for an investigation or a controlled delivery how hard would it be to yank the thing out and smash it to peices on a concrete floor?

regardless of this it takes awhile to do (unless you have one of those NSA certified degaussing tools).

store your data on an encrypted disk in the first place.

You didnt prove me wrong, but rather correct. If they want to, they will recover what was on your HDD.

MMMM i have to disagreee with u purple..

I have heard from a reliable source, and there was a whole report done on this on 60 min. cause of kiddie porn. The only sure way of being safe in this situation is going out and spendind 100 buks on a new hd.
I heard that even if u burn the fuken thing and whats on there is really valuable theylle still get u.

If i had incriminating things on my HD i would not risk it......
