Latest project...
A Citroen Xsara WRC (World Rally Championship) car.
Entirely made in 3D. Heres some progress shots. Notice the carbon fibre bonnet
Im still modeling the car, im only about 25% done on the modeling, then i'll need to texture it etc, put the decals on etc. So dont judge straight away.. thers lot of work to be done!
Taken about 20 hours so far, still need to make wheels, texture the car e.g windows, correct paint etc. Also need to add things like brakes, axels,... eventually an engine but that will take a week at least.
Lets see how long this project keeps me occupied for. lol i cant count the amount of projects ive started and got bored with lol

There you go, the carbon effect was made entirely by me, from scratch. I'd say probably 2 weeks or so and this car will look realistic, and pretty much complete. We'll see how it comes along...
So.. any comments?

One last update for today. Ive played around with the paint to get a deep metallic colour, which i think looks trick
Also played with the headlights a lil. Thing im most happy with now is the paint, looks realistic and really makes a difference!

where did you find the drawing of the citroen xsara??? i highly doubt that you entirely made it from scratch... prolly a 3DS max file you found on some website!!!
maybe its yours... but its tons of works and when i say tons i mean TONS of works!! LOL usually the folks that do those models sell it on the web. its pretty freaky hard to play with surface modeling and polymeshes!! but tweaking a model can be a good start for modeling...

Err ok? Not sure what you expect me to respond saying other than the fact that it is my work.

What reference materials have you been using to model the car?
EDIT: Almost forgot, looks sharp so far. Nice work.

Well for reference pictures just type Xsara WRC into google.

In terms of blueprints, well, i used the Phase 1 prints as i couldnt find Phase 2 prints, then used the pics as reference to get the overall shape.Last edited by Elysium; 04-02-2005 at 06:10 AM.

Just working on a different bumper at the moment, im kinda leading away from the WRC model, thinking of putting in a sunroof too. The bumper im making is inspired by the imprezas, i'll post it in a few minutes
