    Computer anoyance, looking for help

When I right click and or double click to load a song for instance, it takes forever? I counted...right click takes 6 seconds! and when I open a song it takes 10! I understand this is a small problem but i find it very anoying. I have a home built pc, Athlon 64 2800+ 1 gb of pc3200, I feel that it should be flying but i have this problem. Anybody know whats up?

At a bookstore the other day, I saw a book entitled "Sex for Dummies." Why would someone want to teach dumb people how to reproduce? Aren't there enough of them now?

Yeah, defrag and run a couple good spyware cleaners. Also, try the msconfig utility (Open "Run", type "msconfig") and select the startup tab. Uncheck all the bs you dont need, but keep any firewall and virus software checked. If you are not sure, read what the command is for a selection to see what it does, but if you're not sure, post the startup item name and we can check it for you. This should free up you system some.

id say if you did a full reload a month ago, then there is something more going on that defrag and such wont solve. id say there is something eating your processor like a virus or spyware. chances are if you get your songs thru some p2p prog or if you look at porn, you 99% have spyware and/or something else on your computer. check out that route.

I figured out what the problem was, I had Norton Internet Security installed and this was what was causing both slow downs, right clicking and opening as well. Probably scaning every damn little thing for a virus...I switched to Panda internet security and everything is now in just a few seconds. Thanks for all the wisdom tho, Appreciate it.
