can these be used on other computers, for example if i want to key log another computer, can i do this from my computer, if so how.

Yes you can! but you need to hack that computer first so you can install it there

hmm, i dont really uderstand hacking, how do you hack someones computer without being on that computer? i just dont get how it can be done,

for example someone gave me a line that is suposed to be a keylogger, i guess you can use it on aim?? i dont know, but i pluged the line in my browser and it brings me to a porn site?? i dont quite get it. so if i sent this line as an attachment to someone via email, would it automaticaly load in there computer and then send me information??

Sounds like it's not a legit key logger. Most key loggers will be caught by anti-virus or anti-spyware/grayware programs anyway.

there are keyloggers that can sniff out a open port on a computer if you have the ip address of the computer and it can plant itself there and is not detected with a spyware program if you have a certain version or level of the keylogger program... of course it will cost more.

There are alot..some much better than others....
cant remember the names but you can google it and it you'll come up with some freeware and some testers.
