Well, the same team have made a great p2p encryption mail service once again and it's better than ever from what I can tell so far. Definitely check them out if privacy is a concern.

They don't save passwords, so there is no recovery option (memorize or write down), they're completely open source, and there are private keys and encryption protocols for both sender and reciever so if anything is picked via dragnet they'll have a hell of a time reading it.
