How's this cutting diet?
I'm trying to work out a diet for a buddy. He's 250lbs, 6'0. He's been working out for a while now, just needs the right diet..
Here's the plan:
Weights 4x a week
AM Cardio (walking 3 miles on empty stomach (15min/mile) 45min total
One "cheat day" a week (two cheat meals done earlier in the day)
The Diet:
--------
Meal 1:
8 egg whites
1 cup of quaker oats
Meal 2:
2 95% Lean burger patties cooked on a foreman grill
6 CLA oil caps (1 gram fat per each of these caps)
Meal 3:
Problab protein shake(has 6 carbs, is this gonna be a problem?)
10 CLA oil caps (1 gram fat per each of these caps)
Workout
Meal 5: (Post workout shake)
Prolab protein shake (30 grams protein)
Malto/dex mix (80 grams carbs)
Meal 6:
2 Lemon chicken breasts (60 grams protein)
1 bag of brown rice (44 grams carbs)
Meal 7:
2 Lemon chicken breasts (60 grams protein)
10 CLA oil caps (1 gram fat per each cap)
Meal 8:
Prolab protein shake(has 6 carbs, is this gonna be a problem?)
10 CLA oil caps (1 gram fat per each cap)
It's about ~2500-2600 calories..
For the days he doesn't workout, it'll be every meal minus the PWO shake and minus the rice with Meal 6 and it'll be replaced with CLA oil caps...

I have some questions about your response
1) Why pro/fat after cardio? I searched and found some topics but the forum seems to be messed up and isn't showing any threads? (sorry, tried to research myself)
2) Should I have him replace CLA with flaxseed oil?

Ok here's the new diet:
Workout days:
Meal 1:
8 egg whites
1 tbsp flaxseed oil
Protein: 28g / Fat: 14 / Carbs: 3
Meal 2:
2 95% Lean burger patties on a foreman grill
1 tbsp flaxseed oil
Protein: 60g / Fat: 14+(whatever is left from the burgers) / Carbs: 0
Meal 3:
Prolab protein shake
2 tbsp flaxseed oil
Protein: 30g / Fat: 28g / Carb: 6
Meal 4: (Postworkout)
Problab protein shake
Malto/dex Mix
Protein: 30g / Carb: 60g / Fat: 0g
Meal 5:
2 lemon pepper chicken breasts
1 bag brown rice
Protein: 60g / Carb: 44g / Fat: 0g
Meal 6:
1 lemon pepper chicken breast
1 tbsp flaxseed oil
Non-workout days:
Replace the PWO meal carbs with fats and stay under 2600 calories..
Doing this up with fitday, it came out to 2600 calories. I would add that casein shake but it would go over the calorie limit no? anymore changes you guys?

Someone should keep this as an excellent example of how to ask for, listen to, and incorporate advice. Barbellman, you last diet looks pretty right on to me. I may suggest throwing in some other fat sources instead of flax on a few meals. I'd hurl if I had to eat flax every single meal. But that's just me.
