    2 questions about carbing up?

ive been cutting for about a month and ive never carbed up. I just want to know the importance of a carb up day and also when do you know its time for one. My other question is how to have a carb up day. Do you eat carbs at everymeal or something? Im guessing the carbs still have to be low GI.

    1) Important because when you need to trick your body by changing it up once in a while. If you eat strict constantly your body gets used to it. A carb up/cheat day gets your metabolism back into gear because you eat a bunch more food than usual and things you normally would not eat.

    2) Well it depends... if you want to have a true carb up / refuel day to recover / repair then eat low GI carbs all day. But I think a cheat day is a better choice. Just eat whatever you want for a day, I try to start in the morning and stop before 7pm then just eat pro/fat meals the rest of the day. It helps with mental sanity and like I said before gets the old metabolism back into gear. Read the cutting sticky section about cheating. It explains it pretty good

What he said. You definately need a carb up/cheat day if you are doing a strict diet. Once a week should be sufficient. Do a search and you'll get a butt load of info.

i do currently have cheat meals. I do it for one meal per week usually on sunday but ive never had a carb up one. I think ill just incorporate 2 cheat meals on sunday and ill make sure both meals are full of carbs.

It's not so much carbs as it is just foods you've been craving while eating cleanly. For people who aren't into professional bodybuilding competitions, it's more for the mindset as dieting and training is all a mind game and your next move dictates the whole game of life..

If you avoid carbs your body is FORCED to burn fat. It's just me I know but I avoid carbs like the plague. Don't lose muscle as a result and I got plenty of energy.
