difference with dex anhydrous and dex mono?

a friend of mine can get cheap bulk dextrose. problem is it is monohydrate as opposed to the anhydrous i usually use? from what i understand, anhydrous is finer and mixes better while monohydrate is gritty? still not sure.

Monohydrate is what most consider "regular" dextrose. Both Anhydrous and Monohydrate require no conversion before assimilation into the body, so they would both work well PWO. Anhydrous is simply Monohydrate that has been refined to a greater degree. It is used most often in pharmaceutical applications, and is significantly more expensive than mono due to the added refining. The majority of the "off the shelf" dextrose you would find at stores is the monohydrate variety. For strength training and PWO applications, mono is fine.

CellTech has Pharmaceutical-grade Dextrose or "pure dextrose" just for the info.

Well I guess you must admit that CellTech is almost pure A ****.

Both of those terms are subjective, especially "pure". Usually a marketing ploy, IMO. Regular, run of the mill, monohydrate could certainly be labeled "pure". Hell, you could call a turd "pure" and be accurate!
