    Calories On Labels Question

When you read a label of a product for instance and lets say it has 230 calories right, and 10 grams of protein. 1 gram of protein = 4 calories so 4*10 is 40 cals but are these calories included in the nutritional label? So for example would this product really have 270 calories because of the 10 grams of protein or is this all included?

You have to count the calories from carbs and fats also, not just the protein. If the product only contained 10 grams of protein and no other macro nutrients then it would only have 40 calories.

The calories listed are the total calories of everything in the food.
