    affording food

i am trying to get this diet on track, but am having problems on the homefront and my parents now refuse to buy the food i eat and they only buy fatty crap for themselves. i am working full time, but with school and bills it is very hard to afford all the food i need to bulk up.

do you guys have any tricks?? or any diets that you are on to save money? i know costco is the best for saving money, but what should i buy, i dont mind eating things that taste not too good.

thanks guys appreciate all the help

btw how much do you guys spend on food a week?

i know its hard but i pay my parents per week to buy my food for me..lol...at first they wouldnt do it but then i lost it on them and now they buy it. Your best bet is to go to a place like bulkbarn or costco. Other than that i dont know what to tell you. You may need to make more sacrifices in other areas inorder to afford the food.

What would be an example of something your mom would make for dinner?

Well, you better get yourself a job and buy your own food. You should also learn to cook yourself too. And DON'T SHARE with them.

I feel for you bro. I was in a similar boat when I was in school. Just keep you nose to the grindstone and stay focussed on what's important.

For me the cheapest way to eat is to buy the big bags of boneless skinless chicken or turkey breast (unseasoned). You can get store brands for a fraction of the price and if you can watch their ads till they go on sales and then stock up. Also, the big bags of burger patties, again store brands are cheapest normally. Just make sure you look at the burger patties for amount of fat/protein cause some are worse than others, the ones that are preseasoned are usually the worst ones.

If you have a membership to some place like Cosco or Sams club compare prices per pound, sometimes you can still get a better deal at the grocery store.

Last trick for saving money... Talk to the butchers and find out when they rotate product. Most grocery stores have a set day when they rotate out old product with only a couple days before expiration date and the prices are often times 50% off normal price. The expiration date just means it needs to be eaten or frozen by that date so as long as you freeze them right away you are good to go. You can save a fortune doing this.

Costco saves me a lotta money versus local grocery stores. I can get like 10-12 chicken breasts for like 13or14 bucks.
