    Pro/Carb question

Hey guys I have a question. I use FitDay and it kicks ass, but I never realized there were 13g of fat in a 6oz chicken breast... it has 50g protein, and i usually try to get around 30g carbs for a pro/carb meal. Is that too much fat to classify it as a pro/carb? Should I use tuna there instead and save the chicken for a pro/fat?

Also, FitDay says, estimated on my daily activity level, age and weight and stuff that my maintenance caloric intake is around 4000... is this F-ing crazy or what? Does this mean that I've been undereating to bulk the past 3 years? That just seems insanely high for a day's burning without any cardio

Those fat numbers are estimated.... look on your bag of chicken and use those ammounts. Also, if you boil your chicken first it will remove some of the fat. Either way I doubt it has 13g of fat. And yes 13g of fat with a pro/carb meal would be mixing fats and carbs

I try to keep mine below 6g. Usually that is no problem whether using Tuna or Chicken for your pro source. Brown rice only has 1g and my chicken usually has anywhere from 1-5g of fat.

There is no way a skinless chick breast has more than 2 grams of fat.

Use those sites as a guide, use your head to distinguish between b.s. and truth.

You really can't even go by the labels on the bags of chicken unless every peice is cut identically. My bag claims every breast in the bag has 32g of protein, however, sometimes I pull a breast out bigger than my foot, and sometimes I pull one out thats smaller than my hand. They both can't have the same macro breakdown.

if you buy chicken breast (uncooked), from like the supermarket, it tells you the 'fat %', they usually have a variety, you can get 99% fat free

some of those 'bagged chickens' do have a higher fat content

Did you get the Tyson ones as a Kroger special or somethin? Im probably gonna buy about 10 lbs and freeze what i dont use right away.

Another question... When on a cycle, and bulking, is it okay to eat fats/carbs together? Or should I just basically do the cutting diet with twice as much food?
