Calorie Intake
what is a general rule of thumb for calorie intake on a cutting diet... im guessing u need to find ur baseline for maintaining but how far do u undercut that to create a calorie defecit?

Usually people dip to -500 below maintenance. (With cardio and whatever meal planning they have set out). I've learned, set in practice for many years, and now teach, that it's not really the over-all kcal amount at the end of the day. It's more-so what those kcals are, where they are placed, with what, how much, etc. Far more important.

i always go at lease 300 under my maitnence.. and reconfigure the numbers as weight changes..

Ya... thats why i have asked ive lost 14 solid lbs so whats the best way to get ur maintenance RMR or Basal? ... Swole i cant wait till ur freakin book comes out i wish u would dedicate yourself more so u can get my money lol.

well i use the ever so infamous Harris-Benedict Formula which give me an indecation of where to start.. however i regulate my diet by what happens at the sweat factory.. if my lifts drop tromedusly i go back and rework it.. hope this helps.. BOY!@Last edited by Elliot; 07-06-2004 at 02:03 PM.
