pasta & cheese
I'm doin a cutting diet now and was wondering what your thoughts were on using a low-carb pasta as an occassional substitute for brown rice?
Also, I was wondering if it was possible to use cheese (parmesan mostly) in the cutting diet also?

Usually as a rule of thumb, dairy is almost completely cut out during a cutting diet.

and for pasta if YOU MUST HAVE pasta, use the whole wheat kind. but there are other things you can use beside brown rice ( potatoes, sweet potatoes, oatmeal is ok, yams)

oat meal isnt okay ppwo.. (refer to someother thread floating around regarding ppwo nutrition).. dairy isnt a total no-no.. however if you mind being bloated you shouldnt be eating it.. three pasta and cheese = carbs and fat = huge no no..

So i just relooked at the cutting sticky. It suggests to do cardio on an empty stomach in the AM. However, the first meal is lean protein and a 1/2 cup of oatmeal. Any particular reason why?

The amount of parmesan cheese put on top of pasta is nothing. It'll add sodium if anything. You might get a gram of fat and likewise a half gram of sodium out of a tablespoon.
I have to read up on this oatmeal stuff, I must be out of the loop, I still utilize it ppwo.

it should be a lean protein and a fat after cardio to continue lyposis. that meal is good to have on days you do not do cardio

If your tierd of brown rice try parboiled rice, its white with lower GI and tastes good, i use it both for bulking and cutting.
