    AR compared to others...

I am new to posting here, but I have been kinda watching the site for the last 2 weeks or so. I am a member at abcbodybuilding.com and its amazing how bad the advice they give is. Mixing carbs and fats...running for cardio.....cardio at night after working out.....

Anyway, just wanted to say that it is nice to see that this site seems to have **** in order and actually gives sound advice.

I just checked that site out and all I can saw is wow. The administrator of that board just completely sh*t all over AR and it's members.

I quote: "Haha! I've read their boards - that site is a joke! They are so ignorant of physiology and specificity it is laughable. "

And that's not the only comment he made about us. I could understand a member saying sh*t like that, but it was from the administrator.

Here is the post the administrator made.

What? Who told you this? Never work out (even cardio) on an empty stomach. The very first thing you should do when you wake up is eat breakfast. When you sleep, you are basically fasting for 8 hours, and you are in an extremely catabolic state. If you do cardio before you eat anything, your body will be burning muscle like mad.

The rationale for eating oatmeal in the morning is this: the goal here is to slowly but steadily raise but not spike insulin levels in order to provide you with long lasting energy for use throughout the day and to get your body out of the catabolic state.

    1. That's not necessarily true.
    2. You should still eat breakfast PRIOR to performing cardio.

That depends entirely on what kind of cardio you are doing. At 45 minutes at 65-75% of TARGET HR (not max), which you describe is classified as long duration cardio, which will not even begin to deplete muscle glycogen stores. Read this: http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/forum...=1&postmarker=

That is a very poor diet plan. You even forgot maltodextrin post workout.

I'm sure, but if they are giving you this kind of advice, they are flat out wrong. Let's see some medical studies to back your claims.

But guess what? We use actual science to back up our position.

That doesn't matter! You are still activating your oxidative system, which will further lead to catabolism! Have you ever read a medical study before? I've performed these exact tests in laboratories MYSELF!

Well then your two friends must know more than the entire scientific community. I'm impressed.

You know I would go over there and go off..... but what good would it do for us or for anyone else for that matter? Honestly it would make AR look bad for going over there and starting $hit, and we would jsut get banned and they would go on with their rediculous beliefs. O well we will see which site has better looking members in the end. $hit I want to go see their member's picture section now after reading this to see what kinda fat asses they produce over on that board

WOW.... what a bunch of idiots over there! If I go over, I'll just get pissed anyways and get banned right away, probably isn't worth the effor of signing up in the first place. I'm happy here at AR, where members aren't lazy fat asses who share theorys with each other hiding behind their keyboards.

ok, don't ranting now... i feel better.
