Diet started monday, a few questions...
Hey everyone!
I started my diet monday based on information that I gathered here. I am 6'2 200lbs and 21 years old. I am on a cutting diet. This is the exact food that I had during the day yesterday and the numbers come directly from what the labels say...
meal 1- 8:30am
2 whole eggs 160cals/9 fat/2 carbs/14 pro
4 egg whites (egg beaters) 120cals/0 fat/4 carbs/24 pro
*on days without cardio I need to know if oatmeal or some type of carb is ok
meal 2- 11:30am
canned chunk chicken 300cals/2.5 fat/0 carbs/60 pro
1/4 cup almonds 180cals/15 fat/5 cabs/6 pro
meal 3- 2pm
Chicken breast 160cals/4 fat/1 carb/30 pro
1/4 cup almonds 180cals/15 fat/5 cabs/6 pro
meal 4- 5pm
Chicken breast 160cals/4 fat/1 carb/30 pro
Workout- 7pm
meal 5- 8-8:15pm
PWO shake (2 scoops whey, dextrose) 445cal/2 fat/72 carbs/44 pro
meal 6- 9:30pm
Chicken breast 160cals/4 fat/1 carb/30 pro
1 cup brown rice 300cals/2 fat/66 carbs/8 pro
Totals: 2165 cals, 57.5g fat, 157g carbs, 252g pro
Typically i will have a casein shake with some flax before bed, but im not getting the flax until this evening. I also mix pistachios in for the almonds just depending on the day and what im in the mood for; I also use natty PB for my fat source sometimes. Once I get the flax I will supplement that in for the nuts sometimes as well. Diet isnt perfect I guess, but how do my ratios look? I feel like I am getting too many carbs but not sure how to eliminate them since they are coming basically in just those 2 meals. Thanks in advance for your help.

I think it looks pretty good. Meal 4 i would add another fat. Meal 1 or 4 maybe add a scoop whey if you feel you need more protein somewhere. And, meal 1 could maybe use more fat It all looks pretty good bro, good work on figuring it all out. oh, days w\o cardio yeah id add oats if you wanted.
Good Luck.

Plug your stats into the Harris Benedict Equation. It can be found in the "Unoffical How to Bulk Thread." That will give you baseline caloric needs and macronutrient breakdown.

im not 100% sure of this, but at least it seems like all the advice/comments i've seen on other posts, but I think you should have Pro/Fat after your PPWO meal.

carbs at night?
Hey bros,
I am bumping this older thread instead of starting a new one since my question still pertains to my diet. I have been seeing favorable results with the diet thus far. My question is more because I do not understand the philosophy than because I don't agree with it. But why is taking a significant amount of carbs ok to do at night? As you can see by my post at the top, I get over 130g carbs after 8pm. Since I am pretty much resting then and for the rest of the night, do these carbs not get stored as fat? I feel like I am pretty well informed about my diet and why I am eating the things that I eat, but this still confuses me. Can someone please enlighten me?

pwo and ppwo carbs are there for rebuilding your muscle from your workout...so you get bigger. If you're worried about them being at night, workout in the morning.
