    timing of post workout carbs

    i usually go to the gym do my weights and then thirty to forty minutes of slow cardio, then have my post workout carbs and protein. My ? is , is this too long of time to ingest the carbs.

    Yes.

    1) cardio after weights is not a good idea, as you mix an aerobic activity with an anaerobic one.
    2) you cut into your recovery time while doing cardio, thus becoming more catabolic.
    3) once you stop your cardio and ingest the pwo shake (ideally dextrose/isolate), you IMMEDIATELY blunt lipolysis, so your cardio session aimed at burning fat has now ceased in it's entirely.
