    Protein shakes

Currently i use whey protein in the morning, PWO and one scoop mixed with micellar caseine before bed. Im thinking about using micellar caseine in the morning and at night, making PWO the only shake that is only whey protein. This should be better for me than whey in the morning right? Because caseine breaks down slower, so it should give my body protein over a prolonged period of time instead of just alot at once. Can anyone help me out with this?

Why not use handful of almonds or throw some flax/omega 3,6,9 oil in the shake to slow digestion?

Wouldn't that only slow the digestion a little, instead of digesting the protein for 7-8 hours?

Good question I have always wondered the same thing..... but then when I think about it I have not had a problem using whey/flax before bed so I don't know if there is that much of a problem.

I suppose if it was really what you wanted to do. Taking in casein rather than whey at those time would be better. But the EFA's will do just as good. Why not just some Cottage Cheese before bed? Cheaper than the shakes. Just throwing out some other options. But yes it is better to get away from whey all the time, but if whey is utilized correctly (taken in with EFA's), it won't make a significant difference.

I was under the impression that micellar casein takes that long to digest.

If that were the case, I'd only have to eat 3 times in 24 hours.

In this case bro ur right.. if u take the whey/oats, u can`t slowing digestive by adding EFA`s coz is a pro/carbs meal, so an other protein source (like cottage, milk protein, casein) is better. nice thought bro
But IMO is just a 2-3 hour for the next meal so is not a big difference

the fiber in the oatmeal DOES infact slow down the digestion of the protein NSA, so its all good!
