    Confused about dextrose

    I know you're supposed to have a 2:1 carb to protein ration in your pwo shake. So if I'm taking 55 g of protein I need 110 g of carbs. Right?

    The dextrose I take can be seen here, http://ast-ss.com/products/productpage.asp?prodid=35. You see it has 46 g of carbs in 4 tbspoons. So basically 11.5 carbs in 1 tbsp. So to get to 110 g I need 9.5 tbsps??? That seems like an awful lot. Not to mention I'd go through a bucket every two weeks.

    Thank god that stuff's cheap! Plus you don't need to take it days you don't lift.

    BTW, what would happen if I only took 46 g of carbs with my 55 g of protein in my pwo shake? I'm not gonna do this but what would happen. Basically I wanna know why it's recommended that you take a 2:1 carb to protein ration in your pwo shake.

    What difference does that make as to whether 9.5 tblsps=110 grams?

    and its still 2:1 carbro whether cutting or bulking.. bro my advice would be to buy a cheap scale! i just happened to work in the area of street pharmaceuticals back in high school , so i had a few pocket digi's layin around

    I did the math. It says 46 g of dextrose in 4 tbsp. That comes to 11.5 g a tbsp.

    At 9.5 tablespoons that's a whole lotta dextrose!

    Does anyone else put 9.5 tablespoons of dextrose in their shake!?

    Also, do you guys count the carbs from dextrose in your pwo shake toward your total daily intake of carbs?

    dcb, could you look at that link I provided? Am I doing this right? 9.5 tbsp would equal 110 g of carbs for my PWO shake?

    I'm taking 55 g of protein.

    its all good bro, no worries. for a quicker measurment though. if you use 3 scoops from you whey on the dextrose then it come to about 112 or so
