Take your veggie (asparagus, broc, etc.) put it into a large plastic bag with about a cup of water. Pop in the microwave for a minute, check it, then about another minute/2 minutes depending on the power of the microwave. It will continue cooking for a few minutes until you take it out of the bag. So much faster than steaming or boiling on the stove. When you're done you can either throw the bag away, or drain the water and save the extra for another meal.
