4:00 am meal?
Hi all,
I'm on a bulk diet now and was wondering if it would be a good idea if I woke up at 4:00 am and had a meal replacement shake and went back to bed. Without that meal I only have 3000 cals and I can't scweeze another meal in my day.
9:30 AM 1 scoop Protein Shake
1 Cup Oatmeal
4 Egg whites
11:30 PM 6 oz of Chunk Light Tuna
1 1/2 Cup of Brown Rice
2:00 PM 2 Grilled Chicken Breast
FlaxSeed Oil
4:00 PM Myoplex Deluxe Shake
6:00 PM 2 scoops Protein Shake
Twinlab Gainer 3 small scoops
8:30 PM PWO 2 scoops Protein Shake
6 scoops Dextrose
9:30 PM 6 oz of Chunk Light Tuna
FlaxSeed Oil
By the way I'm 5' 9'' 170lbs
Thanks

or at least get it in before bed
you're gonna fast the entire time you are sleeping.depending on how long you sleep, say 8 hours, that's alot of time w/o nutrients.if you can handle the wakeup call by all means i would do it

i would also go easy on the tuna everyday, it can get you sick from mercury poisoning

Some isolate and healthy fats, perhaps.
An MRP w/carbs if you are merely lying back down? No.

A few comments:
- Add some fibrous veg to your 2pm meal. Good for roughage and nutrients with little calories. Try some cauliflower, brocolli etc. Perhaps have a salad with the flax oil as a dressing
- I would have real food if possible at 4pm. Try get as much real food as possible, its a better choice over an MRP.
- Get some carbs in your 9pm meal. It's PPWO so even though its at night the carbs won't be stored as fat. If you are worried then don't overdo it. Just get around 30-40g good clean carbs (rice, yams, oats etc.). Obviously remove the fat here to make it a clean P/C meal.
- In general vary your protein sources. You can't live on tuna Try some more chicken, turkey, lean fresh fish (or some healthy fatty fish for P/F meals like salmon and trout), beef etc.
- Get some protein and fat in before you go to bed. Best bet is something like cottage and flax oil, or cottage with a handful of nuts (you get the point ). ALternatively if you want to use a shake, I would take the protein powder you plan to use at 6PM (which I suggest to replace with real food) and have that before bed with some flax.
