Diet for getting lean first, whilst also putting on muscle
I have a mate that is starting out bodybuilding, but he wants to go on a mass building diet that will also help him to lose weight. He has 15.5" arms, but lean I would say he was probably a 13" arm.
Is the right diet, a high protein one low in fat with a reasonable amount of carbohydrate?
Would that help cut off the fat but put on muscle. If so, he would actually get smaller arms first and then they would get bigger :eek: but is that the right type of diet?

At the moment I'm on a high protein diet of about 100-120 grams of protein a day and probably about 3000 calories
