    Flax Question

I see that there are pills you can take, i found a bottle for $11 of 90 pills.

    What are the main differences?

I was wondering if i should get some Dex as well, this is my diet plan:

    6:15: AM cardio (45 min @ 75% HR)

    8:00: 5 eggs (2 whole), Protein shake

12:00: Chicken Breast, some type of greens(turnip/mustard greens, green beans), tbsp of natural PB

2:30: Can of Tuna w/mustard or hotsauce

    4:30 Protein Shake

    6:00: Workout

7:15: PWO Protein 80/40 (Is this supposed to be 80 protein/40 flax or dex?)

9:00: Chicken Breast, brown rice, some greens

    11:30: No Fat Cottage Cheese

With regards to the pills... You need to take like 10 of them to equal 1 tsp of the liquid and will get sick of taking pills before you are done with the bottle. You should seriously consider the liquid for instead.

I prefer Udo's oil.. kinda nasty, but has many types of EFA's in it, and is relatively inexpensive as well....

It includes oils from flax, sesame and sunflower seeds, as well as oils from wheat germ, rice germ and oat germ.

i'd limit flax to about 1 tablespoon a day. you should be getting plenty of fats elsewhere, and an excess of even so called "healthy" fats can have it's own share of problems. everything in moderation and you'll be cut in no time. you're on the right path.

Where do you think it would be best to add the flax with the diet plan above?

    I thought thats what PWO 80/40 meant? 80 protein/40flax?

I am trying to get tis diet fine tuned and i am sorry for all these questions, i don't want to be counter productive.

    Thanks

No.. that 2:1 ratio is referencing dextrose : protein PWO....
40g protein, 80g dextrose for example...

Definatly don't want fats pwo or ppwo... At 2:30 you have just a protein shake, that would be a good time to take some flax. Also, you have no fat cottage cheese at 11:30 at night which has carbs in it still. Carbs that late at night isn't good and also will speed up the rate at which protein is digested so you would be better off to have something else that late at night as a protein source with fat and avoid the carbs. Some people like eggs at night as it is a slow acting protein source and add fat too it you should be good to go. I like to have an Egg Protein shake with flax for my latest "meal"

    Yes 80g Dex / 40g Pro... Your Dex/Pro ration should be 2:1

I am using the cottage cheese as a source of casein, i was told this was good and i have also heard it is slow to breakdown and is good before bed, i was going to have a Protein shake and a tbsp of PB but was told i would already have an insulin spike and it would be best to eat some cottage cheese.

I re-read your post doby, thanks alot. Maybe i will have just a protein shake before bed instead with some egg whites?

At my 2:30 time slot, what is the ratio of flax to Protein?

You say that you were "going to have a Protein shake and a tbsp of PB but was told i would already have an insulin spike" where would the insulin spike come from that you say you would already have? and why would you want the insulin spike just before going to bed?

That is what i was told in another thread when i laid my plan out, i am with you on this though as i did not understand that either. I am obviously a grasshoppa and am learning. Do you think a protein shake with a tbsp of natural PB would be better?

The eggs don't sound bad either. Maybe i could mix them up from time to time.

Depends on your Natty PB... I have seen some big differences in different brands. Some are high in sugar which is kinda weird if truely natural, thats obviously not good just before going to bed. Others I have seen have no sugar and low in carbs which would be fine with your pm protein. Plus it is a good protein source as well. Depends on how much carbs yours has.

Otherwise if you were interested in Flax at night, 1Tbsp should be sufficient. If you eat eggs or egg protein at night then those are slow digesting anyways and you could realisticly eliminate the flax at night and take it during the day sometime as well.

I am excited and so pumped to get going, i wanna do things right this time.

This is the first time i have ever had a meal plan (that made sense) and i am anxious to see the results.

I am waiting on my membership to the gym to go through (getting it through work).

    Thanks again.
