Is this ok
Hey guys is doing the elptical (sorry about the spelling) a good thing for cardio or should i just do the treadmill or bike. Also most of the fat i have is in the mid section if i do more work outs on my abs would that be ok. Any suggestions please let me know.

You can underwater basket weave as long as your heart rate is in the correct fat burning zone. The actual activity does not matter.
You can do all the ab work in the world as well until the cows come home, but they are only going to show when you've done the dieting/cardio to enable them to show through.

Use whatever equipment is most comfortable for you, it's all about maintaining your proper heart rate. As for extra ab work, don't bother. It won't burn any extra fat, just make sure you are working them adequately.
