Today in lecture we went over this- Okay the reason why Splenda is so good is due to the fact that when it is produce C6.H12.O6(sugar) a chlorine molecule is attached thus not allowing the Splenda to be broken down. The blood insulin levels (when injesting Splenda or any other sweetener) do rise due to the pschological stimuli with the sensation of sweet. However of course this insulin release is min. in contrast of eating simple sugar (monosaccharides) ie. Fructose Glucose Galactose other sugars: Lactose, Sucrose, Maltose (disaccharides) complex sugars: glycogen, starch, fiber (polysaccharides)
any questions??
