    PWO Protein Substitute...

    Hey guys,

Because of my poor forecasting skills, I ran out of protein powder and my shipment from All The Whey won't be in until Wednesday. All I have is a bunch of dextrose.

What do you guys suggest that I do in order to maintain the same results as if I was having my pwo shake after I lift?

Use egg whites, pasteurized, if you can.

    Thanks, SC

So I'll just down 50 grams of dex in cold water and then eat like 25 grams of egg whites?

If u get them pasteurized, I'd get some carb countdown orange juice or whatever flavor, add the liquid egg whites, and the dextrose.

(Carb countdown because you don't need sugar from juice, u have dextrose)

Ok, man. Thanks SC. What do you feel about Swole's (from the JohnStone Forums) advice? He always provides good advice:

You would still need some protein and carbs (not simple carbs) after workout, but you could eliminate the malt/dextrose this way.

The whole point of consuming malt/dextrose is to replenish what you just lost. If you can eat correctly before, during, and after workout, you can still make great gains without it, as long as immediate replenishment is no longer an issue.

what is this guy "swole" talking about? he would use the "sugary drink" as energy to burn durring your workout, thus not having it available to replinish glycogen. oh lordy

Good deal. I just checked their website. Their milk has lactose in it, though. I don't think that'll do well in a PWO shake. So I may just purchase some Lactaid or their juices (orange pineapple sounds yummy )

EDIT: Should I be worried about the sugars in the juices?
