If you're trying to achieve a 2:1 ratio 50g/100g you'll need 2 heaping scoops of whey and 2 scoops of dextrose.

If you're trying to achieve a 2:1 ratio 40g/80g you'll need 2 underscoops of whey and 2 underscoops of dextrose.

Oh, I didn't understand because I use an isolate that is all protein and no carbs/fats, and dextrose measured by the 1/2 cup, where 1/2 cup of dextrose is 75 grams of carbs.

    Good deal!

I just want to make sure its being measured correctly

Included is a picture the nutritional information of a 10lb box of dextrose from Kent Nutrition. This shows that each serving is 11 Grams of dextrose and provides 10g of carbohydrates. There are 412 Servings in the 10lb box which means 10lbs of dextrose = 4532 Grams and 4120g Carbohydrates. Therefore 1lb of dextrose is 453.2 Grams and 412g Carbs. If 1/2 cup of dextrose = 75g Carbs then 1lb of dextrose = 2.75 Cups.

Most dextrose comes in 2lb bags which would mean 5.5 cups per bag.

    1.25tsp = 4 grams
    80 grams = 25tsp
    1/2cup = 24tsp
    1/2cup = 77 grams
    77 grams dex = 77g carbs

The ON Scooper is 1/3 cup

So 2 ON scoops whey with 1.5 ON scoops dextrose = approx 2:1 ratio

Buy a scale, weigh a scoopful of your dex and whey, when done return the scale...Every protein powder contains different amounts of Pro...For example, Every heaping scoop of my unflavored whey weigh 28g and contains 22g of pro...

The dextrose is about 2x as calorie dense (gram/volume) compared with whey. 2 scoops of each will give you what you need.

My whey scoop says its 35g-40g. I took two level scoops of dextrose and it comes out right at 1/2 cup just like SC said.

ummm... people sghould pick up the scoop of dextrose and realise that its a lot heavier than the scoop of whey. i always add 1:1 by scoops but that is still 2:1 by wieght.
are you saying that people measure by number of scoops instead of wieght?

    Standard scooper (28.4g) is 1/3cup
That means 80g dex is just over 1.5 scoops or just over 1/2cup
That means 100g dex is 2 scoops or 2/3cup
You can either use a scooper or use a measuring cup
Swolecat does it the easy way and uses the cup
I do it the hard way and use the scooper

You'll also need to look at which whey you use and their respective amounts of protein.

I know ON Double Chocolate = 22g protein per scoop
Solid Muscle Chocolate = 22g protein per rounded scoop

But they ALSO have carbohydrates in them (Solid Muscle has 11g Carbs per 2 scoops) (ON has ~5 per 2 scoops) so you need to adjust your ratios.
Or you can do it the easy way like Swolecat and get a protein isolate with no fat/carbs.
I don't have what he uses (never asked about any of his products to be honest) so I am using what I've got.
I have 15lbs Solid Muscle Solid Whey and 7.5lbs Cytosport Evopro Casein.

So, for me, with Solid Muscle and dextrose

    2 scoops whey = 40g pro and 10g carb
a little less than 1.5 scoops dex = 70g carb
    Total = 40g pro / 70g carb

This was all an attempt to clarify for the new guys who are always asking what to do. But in all honesty if guys are new, maybe they don't need exact measurements so I'd go with a standard of:

2 heaping scoops of whey (~50g pro)
2 scoops of dex (~100g carb)

Its hard for me to down this, so I add 4 cups of HOT water so it mixes well and drink down a nice sweet hot chocolate, goes down smooth.

This post was initially to help anyone who was confused about the measurements, but I apparently am a perfectionist with a dizzying intellect, and make people more confused. Maybe I should become a lawyer
