    cutting diet

i was wondering if i could eat legumes, pasta, potatoes, bread if i'm on a cutting diet. and if yes when (before or after a workout)?
i have 7 meals total in a day. three meals before my workout and four after.
this is what my diet looks like.
9:00 am ..... oats, tuna, 6 egg whites.
    12:00 pm.... lean steak + protein shake+flax
3:00 pm..... 2 chicken breast, broccolli, cauliflower
    4:00 pm......WORKOUT (shake+dextrose right after workout around 5:00 pm)
    6:30 pm...... 2 chicken breast+ broccolli, cauliflower
    9:30 pm...... tuna+6 egg whites
    11:00 pm.... shake+flax

i would like to know if i should include some carbs in one of my meals after 5:00 pm. plus any ideas of what other stuff i can also eat cause this gets boring. any tips would be helpfull.

Ummm, the short answer is no.

I wouldn't while cutting. Carbs are better for bulking. You are alredy getting carbs with the dextrose and oats. Persoanlly I would limit the oats and only consider the dextrose imediately after your workout (as you outline).

I think that you diet plan looks pretty sensible to me. Try it for a week or so and see how it goes.

you should take a look at the cutting sticky in the diet forum. When posting up a diet for critique, it helps to include the AMOUNTS of food eaten and how many grams of protein/carbs/fats are in each meal. Oats and tuna arent good for cutting if youre eating 2 cups of oats and 4 cans of tuna....

I would get some carbs in there at the 6:30pm meal. Something like brown rice or oats. Leave out the pastas and bread.

well in the morning it would be 1/2 a cup of oats. (i did look at the sticky)
but i don't understand why tuna would be bad it has 0 carbs and 0 fat and 26 grams of protein per can. even with all this food i'm always hungry, i don't know why?

actually 6 oz of tuna (normal can size) has 32g protein per can. But im sure you already knew that.

Its important to limit not only your carbs and fats but also your protein because anything over your daily caloric needs is going to go to fat.
