Better to eat protein late at night or not???
What would be more beneficial to my cutting diet, should i try to fit all my meals into the day before 8 oclock and eat them say about 2.5 hours between eachother, or should i eat all the way up until i go to sleep(mainly just protein and fat) and separate them by 3 hours. I ask because i know the metabolism slows down considerably later at night?

If you're cutting I'd personally suggest the first option.

I use Optimum Nutrition night time protien formula which is a casinate blend. It contains slow acting protien to last the night. It also contains ZMA. I know some people who wake up and drink a protien shake at 2:00 am just to try to stay out of the catabolic state.
I also add Eggology Egg whites to my nighttime drink for even more slow acting protien.
So in My opinion, Bulking or Cutting, drink the protien Bro...

I eat a bowl of oatmeal b4 bed during cutting times with a small amount of peanut butter. Slow releasing carbs keep my metabolism semi-up through the night. one serving of oatmeal is only 27 carbs. 3 sugars.

Just plain terrible my friend. Are you cutting? Never mix carbs/fats....i do not know your overall dietary plan but that meal is far from ideal.

I do this mainly because I have serious night cravings. The only thing keeping me from ultimate rippedness(I am **** ripped though). I find that the PB will suppress my appetite (I'm talkin less than a tablespoon) and the oatmeal is a high protein kind taken with carb free milk. May not be Ideal, but keeps me out of the fridge. Other night meals may work better for some. sometimes I'll drink a protein shake vs the oatmeal.

hey.... well if it keeps him from the fridge, and is really ripped as he says, then why not? you gotta remeber some people just have sick genetics/metabolism....
but for the majority of people like myself, while ripping down i would never do that

I personally have nothing against shakes tho... Just plain food will probably slow your cutting, depending on your body.
It's all a matter of what works for you.

metabolism slows and eating at night makes you fat, blah blah blah..... PROOF?? none... Eating right before bed is one of the BODYBUILDING COMMANDMENTS! Do what you like, but I would never leave my body without food for nearly 12 hours!

I'd never go to bed w/out having a big ass shake or some kind of fat/protein meal.
