    maltrodextrin

    ok

    i am wondering about maltrodextrin

is this stuff a complex carb? or a simple carb?
is it used for spiking insulin like dextrose is?

and would taking 200-400 grams a day (along with weight training 5 days a week, cardio 3 days/week) and a healthy diet in terms of other foods...

would that make you fat/retain water?

You dont need to take in that much malto. Its basically the same as dextrose. Only use it in your pwo shake. 2:1 ratio of malto/whey. Some people combine 1/2 dex and 1/2 maltodextrine, but either way, your insulin will be spiked suffeciently. 40-50g of whey to 80-100g of malto. Thats it!!!

I don't agree. It's a slower burning carb than dextrose. Your PWO shake should be 2:1 wheyextrose or some people do half dex and half malto. The time for malto is in the PreWO shake/meal for sustained energy through your workout. The dextrose will shuttle the protein into aminogenesis more efficiently than the malto, hence the need for it PWO.
