    Mercury in tuna?

    Alright this might be a stupid question but I have heard about getting too much tuna cuz it has alot of mercury in it so you can only do like 1 tuna a wk or something. Someone please set me straight. thanks.

    this has been posted before. all i can say is that i eat at least 5 cans a week, and there was a time when I ate 14 cans a week (2 per day) for many many many months. Im still here....

    basically I think the consensus is that too much tuna can cause mercury poisoning. But I've never heard of it happening personally. Still, Im going to continue to gobble down the tasty fish, its just not my main source of protein. Hope this helps

    Its really insignifcant, unless you're having like 10 cans/day.

    I honestly eat like 8 pounds of it a week. I buy those 4 pound 2.5 ounce starkist can's at Sam's club for $4.88 a can and half those can's go into on of the tun noodle hotdishes which I finish a day and somtime I eat two a day.

    i eat two cans of tuna a day and my parents always tell me there is a lot of mercury in it, but seriously there are toxins in everything we eat.

    Thats true man.. it just seems that tuna gets the most attention

    I believe tuna is safe as long as you don't go for the albacore variety, and even then you have to eat a lot of it. Stick to chunk light, the cheaper type. It's safe.
