that is something that you'd have to experiment with big time. i cosulted a bb specialist and we had to monitor my bodyfat and weight weekly and then tweak the cardio and diet according to what happend to my body that particular week. there really is no one method IMO.

I have no idea what you are doing diet wise, so that's not possible to do.
When I work w/someone over weeks and months I have my own tracking system of his/her progress, thus I can adjust their program while under consultation.
Bigs had some very good advice on the subject, I'd listen to him for sure.

cool i understand guys, how many carbs were you ingesting for the last 4 weeks of the diet??? like weeks 4-1 not including one because i know the last week is insane and im not doing a comp just going away on a vacation! im just looking for a general amount so i can try to look my best without a trainer...

well i would be cycling carbs on workout days and non workout days.....so i still cant give an exact amount...it is really tough to do unless you know your body really well. like swole said above you have to test different methods for your body's reaction to certain types of carbs...if i can dig up my program ill post it.

ok sounds good bro thanks alot! when you cycle carbs do you mean like low and high days???
02-13-2005, 06:24 AM #11
exactly....i would have oats in the morning and then brown rice the two meals after that...so probably in the area of 100 or so carbs on a high day. on a low day i would have a little oatmeal in the AM and smaller amounts of brown rice during the next two meals so probably less than 50 grams....this isnt counting the green veggies cuz those are mostly fiber and are just passed thru the body.
EDIT: if you really follow the sticky above with you personal diet you will definitely see great results. i only consulted a specialist for the last two months due to my inexperience with contest dieting and training.

what about dextrose after a workout? and also my training is 1on 1off because im doing the doggcrapp training so i was thinking about for my off days cardio in a.m then oats and then just broccolli for the remainder of the day and hitting cardio again but having no more carbs except for the broccolli for the rest of the night! this sound like a good idea! im only saying this because it almost seems like im running out of time! and i stil have some fat over my lower abs and lower back! (3weeks and 5 days i have left now!)

i cut out dextrose for the last 8 weeks of my diet....if you eat carbs in the AM (45 minutes after cardio) with your protein and then have your PWO carbs and PPWO carbs you should rip up pretty quickly.
02-13-2005, 03:10 PM #14
ok i dont understand what you're saying you said to cut out dextrose form 8 weeks out and im like 4 weeks out but you said to have your PWO and PPWO carbs... sorry im not too sure i understand what you're saying!

i was talking about dieting just for a competition. basically torturing your body to get to a point where you are so lean you can barely survive (you only wanna be less than a certain body fat percentage for a few days) you are just looking to cut up for a vacation. I would just stick to the cutting sticky above. I know that when i dieted for show and then tried to eat normally again i nearly got sick. Contest dieting and cutting up for a vacation are two very different things IMO. Point being, you should really have to get rid of the PWO dex and PPWO Low GI carbs if you are just trying to look good in general.
