    weighing chicken?

ok i buy my chicken in and it has the specs on the bag (protein per oz.). Are these specs taken when the chicken is frozen or when cooked??? i could see why it would make more sense to weigh it frozen because everybody cooks their chikcen different so the degree of water evapouration would be different. But none the less how is this bagged chicken weighed???

so when it's frozen it would basically weigh around the same amount when it's thawed right???

Frozen is heavier b/c it's holding more water than a thawed state.

I dont think the protein count changes cooked. the total weight will but oz for oz cooked its the same.if anything the fat content drops as it cooks off.

i dont think so! if anything it's lighter! when it's thawed you have water and sh*t running off it,and until that water freezes it's going to continue coming off and out of the chicken! im takling about when the poutry guys would weigh then freeze which is where they would get the specs from!

?? I use a digitial scale when prepping my meals for the day. Seems to always weigh more frozen than thawed. No matter though, just an observation.
