    Post Workout Calorie Intake

    Just wanted to make a poll to see how much everyone eats after their workout. I personally eat 400-600 calories after my workout. I always drink a Isopure for 40 grams of good quality protein. For my carbs I get about 80 grams along with about 7-10 grams of fat.

    What about you guys?

    Edit...I changed my calories, being the smart person I am I actually counted the carbs as 9 calories per gram even though I know it was 4 lol, my mistake. I was wondering why I was so amazed that I ate 1,000 calories after workout

    What you are eating is no-where near 970.

    40x4 = 160
    80x4 = 320

    That's 480 calories.

    Nix the fat too, that's counterproductive in many ways.

    You generally want a source of low g.i. carbs and protein... not fat.

    No, you want high g.i. carbs (such as dex) PWO, and lower g.i. carbs PPWO... there is a difference.......

    Generally speaking, 80-90g of dex is fine for most people...

    the reason dextrose and maltodextrin are so good post workout is because they are processed, absorbe fast and are high gi carbs... the next best thing would be bananas anything with table sugar (lemonade), gatorade, etc... stuff with sugars in it.....

    The fat was just because the food I ate, always had at least some form of fat. There was nothing I could do about this. I have always done this, but I'm now considering buying dextrose.

    Dex IS sugar bro, and you want lots of it in PWO to replenish your glycogen stores

    Bro don't experiment with the 2 most important meals of the day.

    Keep it simple.

    PWO dex/pro, 2:1 ratio..............high gi carb/fast acting protein
    PPWO complex carb/prot (solid food)

    ive done the 2:1 ratio for a year or so now **** i dunno how long,i didnt mean i put fat in pwo, i meant like 5-10g fat in ppwo. **** i didnt mean i make it a point to put fat in my ppwo, just that i was not being so picky on keeping FAT out of my ppwo meal. if i do have fat its under 15g though.

    cool, I understood you the first time, so BE PICKY ABOUT YOUR PPWO AND DON'T PUT FAT IN THERE. Thats all I was saying, and I'm not trying to be an a$$hole, trust me on this one, but do whatever you want.
