is hard alcohol bad for you, i mean if you drink straight up vodka or anything will it have an effect on your diet if you are cutting?

it's certainly not ideal.
remember, alcohol has 7kcal/g -- almost as much as fat (9kcal/g).
one or two every once in awhile won't kill you...regular drinking or lots more than that will at least slow down your progress.

pick what is most important to you and and go with it, booze or your body.

when i include booze in my cutting diet, i feel like i start allll over, so..i just cut it out!

It's up to yo. IMO, I drink once or twice a week, and it hasn't slowed my progress at all. I'm still around 7% bf, and I just work out twice as hard the next day to make up for giving into temptation. =/
