Girlfriends getting ripped...but just ran into a few problems
My girlfriend has always been in decent shape and at a low bodyfat. Recently inspired by my success she began to get really into lifting. Two months ago she started dieting down. She was at 139 at 5' 10''. 8 weeks later she was down to 130. She took one week off and gained back two pounds. Now for the last three weeks, she is being as strict as possible however during the last 10 days she put on 1/2 pound. Pretty much, what gives??? Why the weight gain?
She ate 5 times a day. Carb protein meals for breakfast and PWO. Fat protein meals for the rest. Ate her bodyweight in protein.
The first four weeks she was losing at 1800 calories a day.
The second four weeks she was losing at 1400 calories a day.
These last three weeks she is at 1200 calories.
She has been working out harder than ever.
So what gives? All i could think of is that at one point, you just stop losing. Or is there a problem with her diet.

Its probably water weight, dude... your weight can fluctuate over 5 pounds day-to-day depending on how much water is in your body.

and muscle weighs more than fat..
does she do a cheat meal 1x a week.?? her body may become use to the restricted diet, and is going into starvation mode.. maybe`The answer to your every question

Well i think that muscle gain is probably an option but with her low restricted calories, it seems that it would be hard.
Water makes sense
And yes, she has one good cheat day per week

womens hormones are also a lot different than mens... if its that time of month she could put on a lot of water weight and think it is fat...
Im pretty sure womens bodies have a higher percentage of water?

Its called homeostasis "balance"...basically her body has adjusted to the diet and she needs to adjust her kcals accordingly.
No biggie, i would suggest using www.fitday.com to help adjust her overall diet, it really helped me when i hit a plateau.
