    Dextrose?

    I am 14 weeks out from my first show I purchased Dextrose corn sugar from the company "NOW". I was going to take pwo 40g isolate whey protien with 80g of Dextrose. But a nutritionist told me not to take in all that sugar when trying to get shredded. what should I do?

    Unless you want to keep breaking down your precious muscle after a tough workout..you need your PWO meal...nutritionists have absolutely no idea what they are talking about most of the time. Some will tell you that 1/2 gram of protein per pound of body weight is all that is necessary.

    I'd PM swolecat, or wait for him to respond here. He'd be able to help you with this.... I know that PWO is important, but I believe that you would need to cut it out when getting at a certain time frame before a show....JC

    Dude...you're 14 weeks out. Keep eating healthy and start cutting back 4 weeks out.

    my bad. I didn't realize that he was 14 weeks out from a show. In that matter..swolecat will know the answer for sure...however..some people while cutting choose to cut their dextrose intake in half after a workout. So 40 grams of dextrose is what is needed in some situations for cutting...

    Why would you limit your ability to keep/build lean mass after a workout?

    Dextrose does NOT prohibit cutting/fat loss, an ENTIRE dietary approach that is f*cked up however will.

    I use dextrose all the way until a show, until a week out, no probs. If you think it's dextrose holding you back, ever, may wish to re-evaluate all the other dietary areas.

    you couldn't wrestle my sweettarts from me...was one of my biggest motivations to work out on those days I really thought about staying home, cause besides the benefits...they're just freakin good...I wouldn't look to dextrose as inhibiting at all
