Depends on your metabolism I guess. I mean, Mine isn't fast but I don't gain fat and I eat carbs before bed all the time.

Yeah carbs b4 bed are great...I remember when I ate a roll of oreo's and 2 glasses of milk b4 bed. Those were the days...uh oh getting cravings....Seriously though last meal b4 bed is usually pro/fat. U can use flax as previously suggested, or use 2 tbsp of natural peanut butter. Help the protien go more slow and steady through the system so u dont enter a catabolic state while asleep.

Although you said pre-bedtime meal should be pro/fat, cant you add 1 serving of cottage cheese to your meal? I usually have 1/2 cup of FF Cottage cheese with flax and lean protein or whey before bed. The carbs in cottage cheese arent bad b4 bed right?

To answer your question, consume a protein/fat meal before bed. The carbs can wait until the morning.

usualy anything under 7 or so carbs is fine becuse the quality EFA's and high amount of protein will stabilize blood sugar levels negating the affects of the carbs especially if they are low i.i. carbs.

If you're using fat free cottage cheese and you don't mind carbs (I'm guessing you don't because of the fruit)...try mixing with granola and/or cinnamon.
