    Sugar?

I read a lot of threads and I don't understand the reason to avoid sugar in milk or yogurt. If I'm an athlete and train all day is it ok to drink 2 cups of skim milk per day? If not how much is acceptable?

Depends on what your goals are. If you aren't dieting and trying to shed bodyfat, it's acceptable to indulge. However, if you are dieting you should avoid it for maximum results.

Sugar is sugar. Same reason why most people don't advocate eating very much fruit while cutting, for instance.

In a serious diet where you're trying to restrict calories, and especially sugars (except Dex PWO), milk is the last thing that I'd be wanting to ingest.

Milk will also give you a 'soft' look, as many on this forum will attest to.

How much drinking 2 cups of milk/ady would actually affect your progress relies heavily on your other meals during the day, and your cardio, etc... but when you're dieting hard, and you're trying to make every carb your ingest matter, milk is a poor choice IMHO.

thanks for the replies. I do cardio at least 4 hours a day sometimes 6-7hours I'm an athlete. I used to eat less carbs because I wanted to cut but I was told to eat more carbs for better training. Is it a bad idea to drink milk as a source of carbs for training?

Milk = Sugar. Plain and simple. Sugar is a worthless carb IMO when it comes down to it, except when it's used PWO (corn sugar aka dex) to spike insulin .

Simple carbs,, (Carbon) (Oxygen) and (Hydrogen) these three elements are what make up all carbohydrates, but the way the body uses them is very different. Monosaccharids are simple carbohydrates these will give your body a quick energy supply but will follow with a dip in your blood sugar level, leaving you low and hungry again they consist of (Fructose) witch is the sugar found in fruit (Glucose) is also found in some fruits, onions, vegetables, and liquid or tablet form glucose is the bodies first energy supply. just some imput

sugar is great as long is its pure glucose for pwo consumption otherwise never touch the stuff... fructose IMO is one of the Most worthless carbs.
Milk is good for protein i guess but its Cons by far outweight the Pro's and the ONLY dairy products i touch is 1% or fatfreeCotCheese
and HOLY HELL 4-7 hrs of cardio a day >< that is some serious calorie expenditure

But I heard milk has a low GI index in the low 30s so it digests as slow as fiber.

If you're asking why I train so much it's because that's like my job and it's compulsory in my case. I do that for a living and if I stopped I'd be dead. There are a lot of people train as much as I do so I don't see any problem with that.

No need to get defensive, I didn't say it was a problem.

Why, meaning what do you do? What is your job?

That was all the question was for, relax.

Glad I'm not the only one. Seems as if it's a secret or she wants us to ask and ask and ask.

If you don't wish to tell, that's fine too.

I am pretty sure you are a tennis player, Asia is highly growing in pro tennis, and they train non stop. 8 hrs a day is very common. You need to lose the milk and go with some good carbs. Brown rice is good. I mean the milk is not going to kill you, cause you will burn that off in no time. But milk is for baby's, go with some oatmeal.. Sorry I gave your job out too, goodluck..
