i talked to a guy today(pretty knowledgable guy) he said that dex is only good pwo if your bulking, he said when your cutting it will add to your fat deposits. What do you all think about that?

not true at all....the dex is used to restore glycogen that is broken down after lifting. That has no relation to storing fat...A lot of older bbers are not aware of dextrose. I've talked to many and they had no clue about it, but are starting to see that the whole principle of it makes sense.
