    too much protein bad?

I've read a lot of dif. things that suggest dif. percentage of protein in ones diet. I usually go by 40% protein. However, I read that 30% may be more efficient because excess protein doesn't really even get used? Any thoughts opinions?

I'm sure its different depending on one's goals (bulking, cutting) and what kind of super-supplements someone is taking at one time. These variables aside, it will differ from person to person anyway. Experience (aka trial and error) is the best teacher.

I dont think that your body will process protien differently based on a specific percentage. My understanding is that its based on your body's need and ability to absorb. I think that you are trying to oversimplify this Shred. And, I like thing that are simple, but I dont think that it works in this case.

from my understanding, your body will simply get rid of what it doesn't need/use...so IMO, take in more than you think you'll need, just in case

A and F that is a little bit twisted around, it's not the macronutirents that get stored as fat, but excess calories not utilized that are stored as fat, you can eat all carbs in one day, but as long as your dietary intake is the same as your DEE then you won't gain a lb., but I would not reccomend eating only carbs or only anything for that matter.

Right, with the context that he stated it, it sounded like there is no way protein gets stored as fat, its just pissed out... thats what I was clearing up

So if you were to eat 800g protein in a day and 400g carbs and you were over your maintenance calories by 500, the extra protein that your body doesnt use would get pissed out but the carbs would be the only thing contributing to fat storage?

Bodybuilders reduce the amount of protein in their diets a few weeks before a show... if the extra all got pissed out then there would be no reason for this

basically the protein becomes deaminated or broken down from amino's and reconfigured ( if you will ) into fatty acids and blamo FATNESS at its FINEST!

the reason its so highly renowned is because its extremely effective at controlling blood sugar in carb meals and is used in the construction of muscle but it can still make you a lard ass

Ok, hypothetically speaking... if I take in 4000 calories in protein, none gets stored as fat?

Since the Atkin craze, alot of faddy people, especially in LA, have been complaining of 'back pains'.

Explanation is that protein is being turn to a carb store by the kidneys. This conversion put alot of strain on them and can eventually cause serious damage. The damage of eating a high protein diet can be limited by eating carbs as well.
