Good, but makes you look watery. Best source of casien though. Pure casien. You know when little miss muffett were eating her curds and whey? The curds are cottage cheese! The two parts of milk protein(cott. cheese, whey). Whey-fast uptake, casien-slow uptake. Many do cottage cheese b4 bed.

yeah, i've been doin' cottage cheese before bed with some lean ground turkey...but my question is, what's better, the pure stuff or the no fat? the no fat has about 4g sugar per serving with no fat, and of course, the real stuff has that plus about 4g fat...which is better (for leaning diets)?

Quality, inexpesive protein IMO. I eat 2 cups ED of the 2% ppwo.

    2 cups 2%
    360 cals
    10g fat
    52g protein
    16g carbs

The no fat tastes horrible to me...

Until I landed here at AR, the "goal" had never been to seperate carbs and fat for me. It makes perfect sense though and unless ~SC~ is really just some 125lb PC clown stealing and scanning pics from muscle mags, well then the proof is in the pudding...

I'm just not looking forward to giving up my milk come time to cut...

    consider it another bump shred...

not a problem bro, good to hear some responses. I was thinking of adding the cottage cheese at night before bed. Normally I have egg whites, but I figured i'd change it up. I'll see how I look in week, then decide to keep it or not.

Let us know how it works out, I'd be interested to know how it affects you. Any effect that it gives(water ret.) would be more apparent on you since you're dr. shred and all.

our ricotta is very good and the cheapest source of protein and the micros arent bad too 100grams provides 108 kal 14 gr P,2gr C,4 gr F
i like to eat it alone but always use it for a treat too chocolate protein ricotta and peanut butter , the thing is that if one wants to lean out ricotta would be out of the question i guess

I've never seen that b4, maybe it's a UK thing. I always mix the low fat kind w/ some juicy cherry tomatoes, and fresh ground black pepper.

Like Indian Chicken Tikka? I love that. Indian food must be popular in the UK. Makes sense.

You said it bro..... bulking I say go for it.... cutting I'd be careful with it,.... it is dairy. I use the fat free on occasion when cutting and it works out for me.... closer to show date I ditch it. Now in bulking I'll go through 3-4 tubs of it a week. LOL If bulking take 1 or 2 cups of it and a spoon full of natural apple sauce...mmmm..mmm... good.

The carbs are minimal at best.

Cottage cheese is made up of slow-digesting protein...the presence of fat only further slow gastric emptying

The small amount of carbs is of no consequence as they should not influence blood sugar

Cottage cheese while cutting is fine...it's a great source of protein, and any sensitivities one might have w/ it will go away once you stop eating it.

Yup, that is the case for most.

In the early stages of cutting it's no biggie really, but then when it matters, well, it then matters.

    For me anyhow.
