20% of your total caloric intake is usually a good starting point.

Starting point for what? What kind of diet? What is the goal? What are the other macros set at and why? Etc, etc.

It's a more complex question than I think you realize.

starting caloric intake for the day is 2300cal without spilling over and storing fat, what im doing is trying to find the fine line between building muscle and staying ripped so far ive managed, ive put on about 5lbs of lean muscle in the last 2.5 months, which is a good jump since im natural and it's pretty much all muscle, however the problem i have is im constantly jumping from 1 ratio to another trying to find the best one for me, but i keep researching and this is what is keeping me from sticking to 1 macro ratio because of the different theories, i know i should just stick to one but its hard when everything you read changes your mind...thats where guys like you come in that have the experience with this, although what worked for you may not work for me but is still a starting block.
