Protein shakes when I wake up in the night?
I have sleeping problems and I probably wake up an average of 8 times per night. Each time I need to get out of bed and walk around for a minute before I get back to sleep. Seems like a good time to get some extra protein, as long as I'm already up, should I drink a couple cassein shakes in the middle of the night?
Also, I assume it would be OK to mix them and leave them in the fridge before I go to bed?

If you get up...and are vaguely hungry have a shake...otherwise...try to go to sleep.
Work on your sleeping problems bro.
Gettting good sleep is most important that a couple more grams of protein IMO.

Well I've been like that my whole life. The amount of sleep I get in aggregate per night is OK, I just wake up a lot of times. Usually get back to sleep within 5 minutes though. I don't mind waking up with the shietz either since I'll be waking up either way.

Just make sure those shakes fit into your daily macro amounts

Can you ever have too much protein?

Get yourself on some ZMA and even start taking some melatonin to help you sleep. Sleeping that extra bit is going to help your muscle recover much more than that extra protein shake in the middle of the night.

If you eat too much of any macro it could lead to fat gain, so yes you can.

Well yu do need to work on your sleep. But if you get a good amount of actual sleep per night a shake won't hurt. I have my alarm set for 2am... I wake up drink my whey/flax shake and go back to bed. Been doing it for years now.
