veg juice as post workout drink

For the past few years I've been drinking carrot juice that I make myself post workout. I juice 5lbs of organic carrots that gives me about 5 cups and 100grams of simple carbs although it's low glycemic. I also drink whey. I read that fruit is not good at replacing glucose to muscles only to the liver, does anyone know if this is true of veggies as well?
