Protein Alone
Saw in a couple of recent posts, people recomending NEVER to eat protein by itself. Is there a reason for this? I am consuming protein all day, most times with a fats and my carbs in the morning and with my PWO shake and meal, but whats wrong with eating a couple of chicken breasts by itself?

When you protein with carbs or fat, the carb/fat gets used for energy and the proteins as the building blocks for muscle.
If you eat it alone the protein just gets used up for energy.
Also, fat and fiber slow down the digestion of protein.

I personally don't see the prob in ingesting protein only meals...once it's solid protein as opposed to shakes. Meat protein post-ingestion IMO, doesn't benefit from delayed gastric emptying...as would a protein shake... as solid protein already takes 2-4 hours to digest on its own.
True... a dietary carb-deficiency will result in the denaturing of some of the amino acids for energy...but the amount isn't significant...especially if protein is ingested in the excess of 1gr per lb LBM...specifically when overall ingested calories are less than maintenance.
