Necessary to have a fat source with steak to make a pro/fat meal?

I usually take about 26 almonds along with a steak (usually NY strip) as a pro/fat meal. My question is, is it necessary to have the almonds or any fat source with the steak to make it a pro/fat meal? I know there is fat in the steak (about 15 g, is that right?). Would adding the almonds make too much fat?

No, New York Strip is about 2:1 pro/fat.

I'm sorry BeerBaron, but your saying "No, it's not too much fat" or "no I shouldn't take the almonds with it?"

I meant it is not necessary to have the almonds with it to get enough fat. If you have a half pound steak, it is about 45pro 22fat. For me that's enough, I don't know the specifics of your diet though.

So for a pro/fat meal I could just have the steak?

Is the fat found in steak a good source of fat or a bad source of fat?

I am about to purchase a ranch w/a few cows because of how much steak I eat.

No, I would never eat almonds w/red meat.

It isn't a 'bad' fat... Saturated fats are not bad unless taken to excess... An excess is directly related to heart disease via elevated cholesterol...a dietary inadequacy is directly related to low hormone levels(testosterone included)...so saturated fats ARE necessary.

IMO..the only 'bad fats' are the trans-fats...

As to the original poster's question. Whether the amount of fat per serving is adequate depends on your dietary needs...but as SC mentioned... i wouldn't add the almonds there at all...IMO that'd be overkill.

I second this...read alot of stuides , and info bout it....

they also said in one article (not a medical article&i saw no refrences cept from a nutriontist who that...."it may or may not happen")...that men who eat alot of animal fat lose more hair due to raises in test....
